Is Dental Implant Advisable After Molar Tooth Removal?

Question: good morning,

my last tooth(molar) on the upper jaw was removed two days ago and i asked the surgeon if i can have a dental implant to replace it but he told me last tooth removed need not to be replaced. i am naturally gap-toothed person and i dont want this removal affect or further increase the spacing. si how true is it that no need to replace last tooth removed?

As per your complain if your last molar tooth is extracted and if it is a third molar or a wisdom tooth then replacing it with an implant is not required..

In case if it is a second molar or first molar then replacing it with an implant can be done, rather it should be done so that the other adjacent teeth do not drift in the empty space left after removal of the molar tooth..

So better consult an IMPLANTOLOGIST and get evaluated and if after complete assessment and if the tooth extracted is not a wisdom tooth, he can place an implant to replace your extracted natural tooth..

As the tooth extracted is a 3rd molar or a wisdom tooth then the suggestion given to you by your dentist is correct and you do not need to get it replaced with an implant and it will not cause you problem like drifting of teeth..

Along with it, in humans wisdom tooth is a rudimentary tooth and does not participate in any activities like chewing and if it is lost, no replacement is needed..

Better don't worry as you do not need an implant for replacing your wisdom tooth..
