Question: Hi Doc
This is a question on behalf of my friend

He n his gf had sex n there is a possibility of pregnancy. How to avoid it?
She had a date itseems on that day. But its already 3 days over no periods wt to do?

Hello,
Thanks for contacting HCM.
If she was on her due date when she had sex with her bf then it is unlikely that she should get pregnant as the progesterone levels are low at the fag end of the menses and also ovum gets disintegrated and absorbed by the end of the menstrual cycle.
As it has already been 3 days post sexual intercourse, even an emergency pill would be too late to effect now. Though it is seen that if sex happens during due dates , then the period is likely to be delayed by few more days , but shall resume once the progesterone and prostaglandins released during sex decrease in next few days.
So, she should just wait for her menses to return.
