Is Dancing Safe When Suffering From Lupus?

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Nov 2014
Question: I MAY HAVE LUPUS-I want to know whether I can still dance and do Zumba as I AM VERY ACTIVE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS DISEASE PROGESSES AS I get older as I think I HAVE HAD it for awhile and have been misdiagnosed. I am retired but substitute teach and go along for a few days then am very tired and this has been going on for one year. I lost my spleen at 16 in a car accident and appendix. Does that have anything to do with this?

I usually get adobe acrobat for my file,All my MIGRAINES ARE CONFIRMED BY SEVERAL TOUGH YEARS OF TRIAL AND ERROR AND TESTS OF MEDICATION SO I am very stable on my meds. I ASLO HAVE VERY MILD COPD AND ALLERGIC ASTHMA AND FIBROMYLAGIA which I TREAT WITH EXERCISE AND SWITCHING AROUND CHORES AND SHOPPING AND FUN. We love to dance and the codeine and Botox keeps the migraines under control and zumba. I AM A MUSIC AND YOGA DOESN'T CUT IT FOR ME SO I want to know if this gets worse and worse in future as I AM DOING MY ROUTINES WHICH ARE HIGH CARDIO AND STRETCHING.

ihave been seen by serveral neurologists and neurooptpmplisists in the past few years.

Brief Answer:
? Lupus

Detailed Answer:
Good evening mam

I have gone through your history. Well considering your age, it is unlikely for lupus to be present at this age and progress in the coming years. Lupus can happen at any age.

But to say if it can be present or not, i need to ask you a few questions:

1. Do you have any symptoms of oral ulcers/Dry eyes/Dry mouth/Excessive hair fall/or rashes over the face or any part of the body which gets worse on sun exposure?

2. Do you feel symptoms of pain in the stomach or shortness of breath or chest pain?

3. Have you got any blood tests done, like the autoimmune markers and the routine blood tests? If yes, please attach the reports as well

4. Do you experience any joint pains?

Lupus as we know can present in any form. There are few other conditions along with Lupus which present with very vague symptoms. Fibromylagia is the diagnosis of exclusion. So, we should rule out the other conditions before labeling you as Fibromyalgia.

Do let me know these queries. I will be happy to help you out here.
