Is Curiosity About Female Anatomy In Little Boys Normal?

Question: Hi. My 5 year old has been going through gossip mags and cutting out pictures of girls in magazines, we walked into his room and he had stuck about 15 pictures out of Mens Health Magazine on his wall. Even if we have hidden magazines he has become obsessed with wanting to find pictures of girls in underwear. We also caught him touching his brothers bottom in the shower. We are concerned that this isn't normal. We have asked him questions to make sure that no adults have shown him any pictures, or themselves and it doesn't seem that anyone has (nor is he around anyone but us most or preschool). This obsessive sexual behaviour mainly occurs when he is tired.

Don't worry. Many kids at this age do show this kind of behaviour.
It is not abnormal. It will settle as they grow.
What you need to do
1. Avoid combined bath.
2. Restrict access to these mags and remove all the posters pasted.
3. Constructive toys and outdoor activities like cycling or football
4. Do not discuss these issues with him which may provoke more such behaviour.
