Brief Answer:
your son is on the right path ... of total cure.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns.

I can understand your emotions. Your son is diagnosed as having schizophrenia. Consulted a psychiatrist and he prescribed Oleanz. You are worried about your sons future.

Oleanz is an anti-psychotic drug, which antagonizes dopamine in the brain. This action will cause reduction in psychotic symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. This medicine is very much effective in many types of schizophrenia.

I hope you know about schizophrenia. There are four types. Paranoid, Catatonic, disorganized and catatonic.

I hope your psychiatrist did tell you which type of schizophrenia your son is suffering from. I also hope that you started the treatment 'at the earliest'. Proper diagnosis and timely treatment always are effective for a total cure. In such cases schizophrenia is totally curable and you don't have to worry about it.

But you must make sure that your son is always motivated and active. Keeping himself busy and active in his life always makes cure easy. You don't have to worry about his career and future. In my experience, there are so many people who are successful at their career as well as in their life, even though they are schizophrenia.

In your son's case, there is all the possibility that he will be cured totally.

It is always better not to divulge this diagnosis to any other third persons. Let them know only when time comes.

Please treat him like a normal human being and love him. Love and affection always provide the motivation your son needs. You can treat him as a matured and responsible person. So that he gets motivated and become a mature adult.

Along with psychiatric treatment, motivate him to try yoga, meditation and psychotherapy. Exercise, Life style changes, change in thinking pattern, relaxation etc are as essential as medicines. Psychotherapy can help him changing his lifestyle and thinking patterns. Yoga and meditation help him to streamline his metabolism and neurological balance.

Please do not worry.
You and your son are on the right path ... of total cure.

God bless you.

Brief Answer:
I am sure your son will be cured

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks very much.

Work with the psychiatrist and your family doctor so that the best possible treatment is provided to your son XXXXXXX

As you have mentioned, your son is doing his PhD, also look into the "stress" angle. In all possibilities, that could be the basic reason for the current mental condition.

I am sure he will be cured.

Talk to your son regarding the required psychotherapy, yoga and meditation treatment. You can ask a direct question to me after you speak to your son and the doctors. I will be happy to provide the initial and intermediary steps of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Vocational Therapy (VT) which your son is needed.

When you come up with a direct question, please include every details about your son, his character, behavior, personality etc. Whatever information you can provide will be useful to me. Even information which you feel useless.

If you desire so, I shall provide my phone number, so that you and your son can contact me.

God bless your son.
Convey my new year wishes to him.

Happy new year to you too.
