Question: My husband got into some poison ivy. Got a steroid shot and the Dr. also sent him home with oral steroids where you take 6 the first day 5 the next day and so on until you finish. After taking 3 of the first dose he noticed extreme swelling on his testicles and a strange lump behind his right knee and swollen ankles. And also has been running 101* temps in the evening. He stopped the oral steroids. It seems to go down in the morning then back up at night. Last night his temp was 103* he took aspirin and a tepid shower. He also has a couple of stints and takes blood pressure melds and thyroid med. but recently had a good report from his heart dr. Went to the emergency Sunday and they ran tests. Everything looked fine. they gave him lasiks and also sent him home with a Rx for more lasiks. This morning Tues. July 5 th his temp was normal and all swelling gone. But, his ankles are starting to swell again. We're concerned that his temp will go up again this evening and why he's still swelling and possibly running temps. Any thoughts as to what might be going on.
