Brief Answer:
Hypotension. needs management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Your father in law has low blood pressure but not too low. Systolic less than 90 is low and diastolic less than 60 is low. However above 80 systolic and above 50 diastolic does not cause perfusion problems , although should be sored out for the cause of this hypotension like bradycardia, valvular heart problems, failing heart, dehydration, infection, lack of nutrients in diet, medications that can cause low blood pressure etc .

Your father in law needs a little detailed history and a complete clinical correlation to sort out the cause behind it. They will run some labs like ekg, echo and perfusion studies to sort out the cause. Meanwhile let him use more salt and take more fluids, wear pressure stockings and avoid any medication that might be causing this low blood pressure. If the blood pressure drops after meals then prefer small low carb meals.

Talk to your doctor and let them decide what is best for your father in law. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
