Is Arthroscopic Surgery Necessary For Dislocated Left Shoulder?
Question: My Left Shoulder got dislocated for the first time in an accident 20 days back.
I managed to get that reduced it myself within 10-15 mins time as i had a history of recurrent dislocation of right shoulder and i knew the procedure for the same.
Had an MRI done for left shoulder which revealed following impressions:
- Hill Sach's Defet with marrow contusions adjoining it.
- A large osteo-cartilaginous Bankart's defet extending from 3 o' clock to 6 o' clock position
- Moderate Synovial effusion / haemarthrosis
- Bicipital Tendinosis
The doctor suggested me to go for arthroscopic surgery (bankart repair) at the earliest.
Do i really need one to get this fixed. I know the possibility of recurrent dislocation is much higher after first instance.
