Brief Answer:
Drugs unlikely to affect anion level

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Anion level or gap is the measure of excessive anion present normally in the blood. Anion level/anion gap of 20 is near the upper limit of normal. The Drug Azor which you are taking is anti-hypertensive drug consist of do drugs which have different mechanism of action . They are unlikely to contribute to anion gap.

Do get back to me with detailed description report if you need any further clarification.

Thanks

What does a high anion level suggest

Brief Answer:
It is due to excessive endogenous acid formation

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

Under normal circumstance and for equilibrium of body the number of anions ( positively charged molecules) is equal to cations( negatively charged molecules). Under normal circumstance some of the cations cannot be measured, so virtually causing excess anions ( This is only due unmeasurable cations).

Cations could be increased due to excessive endogenous acid formation, exogenous drugs which are acidic in nature. So leading excessive anion gap.

Take care

Dr Shobha
