Is Angiography Recommended For A Person Whose ECG Shows Significant ST-T Wave Changes?
Question: My mother age 63 went through TMT. There was no angina. Significant ST-T change were noted at peak excercise in lead II 1.3 mm (H), lead III 1.2 mm (H) and lead aVF 1.3mm (H) and lead 6 1.5 mm (H). These changes recovered within one minutes of recovery period. No significant arrhythmia was seen. Test was moderately positive. Normal BP response and fair excercise tolerance. ECHO and ECG were normal too. is angiography advisable??
Brief Answer:
Yes Angiography is advised in such case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. As you are having significant ST T changes on 2 ,3 and avf on exertion it can be most likely due to ischemia on inferior wall of myocardium. Angiography will be helpful to to know the extent of block and need for bypass or angioplasty. So it is better to go for an angiography after consulting your cardiologist.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
