Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The baby is supposed to stand on his own without support by 12 months of age. He is doing so by 10 months. So, the gross motor development is on track. You are talking about certain fine motor developments which would gradually fall into place. You need not be concerned. Waving and clapping may sometimes take some time to develop.

Let me know if I could help further.

Brief Answer:
Responsiveness is the issue, not clapping

Detailed Answer:
Not at this stage. Eventually the child will. If the child otherwise looks you in the eye and responds to commands, you need not worry even if he does not clap at all.
