Brief Answer:
No chance of getting the infection.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome to HCM.

You had sex with prostitute and the condom broke but you need not to worry at all because the risk of getting the HIV infection from such single episode is very less as well as you also started PEP within stipulated time limit so just calm down and forget about the episode as you are absolutely risk free.

The test HIV test results for prostitute is also came in your favour. Be relaxed and move ahead in life. If still you have any query feel free to ask me again. I am always here to help you out. As your friend also advice you to stay away from such unsafe practice to prevent the future risk of HIV and other STDs.

Thank You

Thanku sir for prompt reply
Tridot method was used after 9 days we had sexual intercourse to screen out hiv.its a test to check antibodies and antibodies take 28 days to appear in the test..so she might be in the window period and there might be chance for infection..thought result shows she is hiv 1 and 2 negative
Second test was hiv 1 rna pcr qualitative after 16 days of intercourse..result in this also turned out to be negative
How reliable and senstive is this test is and does it looks for all subtypes of hiv 1 A to K or O..
Third pep prescribed is tenvir-em once a days..is it a correct prescription
Is there any chance of transmitting infection sir?
Please give elaborative answer sir

Sir one last question
Is it conclusive from the two above conducted tests that the csw didnt have hiv?
And whats the reliability of pcr rna qualitative test?

Please give answer to both questions
Last question and thanks for clearing all my doubts and make me feel better

Brief Answer:
RNA PCR test is highly reliable.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome back once again.

HIV RNA PCR test after 16 days of exposure is very reliable and accurate but in your case you need not to worry about the test accuracy because the risk is already unlikely and PEP is 100% protective. It is not conclusive from these two test that CSW is not having HIV but you are absolutely safe so allay the fear or anxiety and move ahead in life happily.

Sir i am still in dilemma
Firstly research on internet says pep are not 100% effective
Secondly when pcr rna is highly reliable then why cant we conclude she is not hiv infected after 16 days
Antibody test is also highly reliable..

Please reply to both the answers
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Because the window period is for 3 months.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome to HCM once again.

Even though RNA PCR is highly reliable we have to repeat the test after 3 months because the window period for HIV varies from 15 days to 3 months but you need not to worry as the risk is negligible so be relaxed, forget the episode and move ahead in life.

You are 100% safe.

Sir
I have one more doubt
What are chances of prostitute being hiv when 16 days after Sexual exposure pcr rna qualitative is negative..in percentage

Pep are not considered 100 % effective..that doubt persists in my mind
My exposure was for the long time..thats why i am more worried.

Thanks in advance sir

Brief Answer:
The chances for prostitute are also very less.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The chances of prostitute being positive after RNA PCR negative result are very less and also don't get confused or worried about effectiveness of PEP as you had started it within stipulated time limit of 72hours so your exposure ends once you complete the PEP. Be relaxed, forget the episode and move ahead in life happily with family.
