Brief Answer:
please see below

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
Definitely HbA1c of 6.6 and total cholesterol of 168 mg% are good. However Aim of cholesterol evaluation is now a days LDL cholesterol which should be less than 100 mg% in a diabetic.
"C-protine" which you have mentioned to be 1.45 mg /L is possibly C-reactive protein. CRP has been pushed to be one of the cardiac risk factors for last ~15 years but has never established itself. Medical science do not know how to proceed with high CRP in absence of other cause of raised CRP mainly inflammatory conditions. We do not know how to definitely reduce it, when to start therapy, how long to give it and what kind of benefits will be derived. One of the big trials of this era JUPITER, tried to address this issue and said that Statin group of drugs should be used. However for how long and what benefits will be achieved is not clear. As of current thinking, LDL cholesterol and other established markers provide best prognostic information and CRP do not add to them.
Since you are already taking lipirose which is a statin itself, it is prudent to look at current established risk factors. Hope this provide some insight into one of the current controversies in cardiology.
Feel free to discuss further, if there is anything.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder

Dear sir
To prevent a cardiovascular event, one has to maintain good diabetic control, keep cholesterol, blood pressure, anxieties, worries and tension under check. Maintain optimal body weight (body mass index- 23), exercise regularly and should not smoke.
