Is Xanax The Right Medicine For Panic Attacks?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 May 2015
Question: I travel for work all over the country and I am having a hard time finding a family doctor to upkeep my prescriptions.. Can anyone advise on the best way to handle this? I have a history of panic attacks/social attacks and depression as well as herpes. The regimen the doctor put me on before was a birth control that basically had prozac in it for "severe pms", valtrex for outbreaks and a very mild xanax for the panic attacks.

Brief Answer:
precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I understand your health issue and health care magic will always be there to answer your query anytime you need to clear your doubts or need an opinion.
You have been given the right set of medicines but still they should be used only when required and not always.
Also take care of the following points -
- you should drink a lot of water
- avoid hot and humid climates
- lessen your intake of caffeine
- eat lots of salads and fruits
- include nuts especially walnuts in your daily diet and increase intake of soy proteins.
- take capsule of evening primrose oil daily for at least 3-6 months
- try to indulge yourself in some hobby or start yoga and meditation, you will definitely feel a lot better.
All the best.

I practice yoga, meditation, positive manifestation and also take a daily natural hormone balancer as well as shilajit. I will look into adding primrose to my regimen and I appreciate the advice. However, my issue is still trying to find a doctor to refill my three prescriptions.

Brief Answer:
prescription is must, visit a physician

Detailed Answer:
I understand your concerns but online prescriptions are not a valid legal proof for the purchase of any medicine which is not over the counter.
And to curtail the misuse and abuse of the drugs it is mandatory to produce a proper prescription on the letter head of a doctor.
So in my opinion it will be best that you visit a physician or a neurologist near your home place and get the prescription of the drugs.
Till then keep taking the precautions advised.
All the best
