Is Testosterone Booster Advisable For Enlarged Prostate?
Question: I take dutasteride for enlarged prostate. Is it safe to take testosterone to regain proper sexual activity?

Wikipedia says the following:
"Mechanism of action:
Dutasteride belongs to a class of drugs called 5α-reductase inhibitors, which block the action of the 5α-reductase enzymes that convert testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT)."
Doesn't that mean that the blocking action reduces the levels of testosterone? If so, and I take additional testosterone, will I be reducing the medicinal effect of the dutasteride on the prostate which allows me to urinate properly?

It will cause decreased DHT production but indirectly it will lead to increased nonconverted testosteron in blood. DHT(converted testosteron) is responsible more for muscle mass and skin changes than for sexual function which should not be disturbed in patents on dutasteride. However, it is safe to take, Some body builders take dutasteride and testosteron together and it doesnt have any negative effect but also there wasnt positive effect on sexual function as well as some studies suggest.
