Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: We visited our neurologist for regular checkup of sone and he observed that my son was not sitting at one place. he asked us if this is usual behavior. We said yes. he said this has to be cured by medicine only and prescribe sizodon drops. I want to know what exactly these drops are for and what are their side effects? Is it ok to give it to child of age 3.2 years? we are concerned about side effects.

Brief Answer:
Yes safe to take

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I understand your concern.
Sizodon is risperidone.
It is safe and prescribed for attention deficit or hyperactivity.
Mild side effects include weight gain, sedation, metabolic effects, etc.
But these are only in high doses.
The dose you have been giving is within the safe range.
No need to worry.
Follow your doctors advice.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
