Answered by Dr. Dalia Muraleedharan (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It works but not advisable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Natazia works in overweight women. But this is not advisable in women with BMI>35kg/m2 since it increases the chances of thromboembolism and cardiovascular accidents. Hence alternate contraceptive method is advised in overweight women.

By cardiovascular accidents , I meant heart failure due to thrombus. These complications occur on continuous use of OCP's for many year. It doesn't come in a year or two.

Alternate contraceptive methods include
1. barrier method like condom, female condom, diaphragms ,
2.IUD's - CuT and hormonal IUD,
3. Implanon (implants)
Once the family is completed permanent sterlisation like tubectomy in females or vasectomy of the partner.

Brief Answer:
Not required at present

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Nattokinase is not recommended in a healthy person without any disease. So consult your gynaecologist for a follow up every 6 monthly to have a check up. You can continue your OCP's while on regular check up..
