Question: Hello,
I take Losartan for high blood pressure. I also take Meloxicam. Is it okay to take these 2 meds at the same time?

Hello and welcome,

While there is no absolute contraindication to taking these together, overtime there is some risk that Meloxicam can decrease the effectiveness of the Losartan somewhat. Also, the two together have the risk of lowering potassium and affecting kidney function.

They are relatively safe to take together but you should be monitored to see how the two together effect you. This monitoring should include:
recheck blood pressure
check potassium level
check BUN and Creatinine levels (kidney function)
