Brief Answer:
Klonopin is addictive and may not be prescribed

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am so sorry to hear about your family and the large amount of stress you are under. You are wondering if a physician would prescribe you klonopin for anxiety if you have a history of codeine abuse. My recommendation would not to use klonopin or any other anxiety medications as they all can be addictive and pull you down back into the addiction cycle. I would recommend that you try counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. Using medications like Klonopin is a crutch and not a very good one because of the high abuse potential with it.

In summary
1. See the psychiatrist in March
2. Avoid klonopin or other anti anxiety medication due to high abuse potential
3. Try Cognitive behavioral therapy "The phobia and anxiety workbook" By Dr Bourne.
