Is Ecospirion,Progesterone And Tidilan Inatke Safe During Pregnancy?

Question: hello I had one ectopic pregnency before and tube was removed.I am 27yrs old. Now i am 12 weeks pregnant and was prescribed ecospirion 75mg,progesterone 200mg twice daily,tidilan 10mg twice daily and was asked to continue till my doctor says tos top them.my concern is whether is it safe to take the above medication ..will it harm to fetus anyways??does taking high dosage progesterone affect the baby brain anyways??

Brief Answer: No harm of taking all these drugs. Detailed Answer: Hi. Welcome to HCM. It is really good that you have already conceived and is now at 12 weeks pregnancy. You Doctor is pretty concerned about you and your baby and is trying to take all precautions. All these drugs are rightly prescribed and to ensure maintainence of pregnancy. This dose of progesterone we are routinely using in our practice and if used vaginally, it has more of local action with good absorption rate.Tidilan is a uterine relaxant. Once your level 1 scan is done which is due now, and placenta is seen nicely, your dr. may slowly taper off or stop progesterone, as she considers right for you. So, don't worry and good wishes for your future pregnancy. Thanks.

i was prescribed the above medication from 5th week and continuing from then on.No harm on taking them for long isnt it doctor?? 4 days back i was bitten by my pet dog and was prescribed odoxil 500mg twice daily for 5 days.is it ok taking thhis antibiotic at this stage??will it cross placenta and effect the baby??

Brief Answer: Odoxil is safe in pregnancy. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Odoxil ( cephalosporin class) of drugs is safe in pregnancy.All other drugs mentioned and started from 5th week are also safe to use. But my concern for you is dog bite. According to me, You should go and consult Antirabies department in your hospital and we give first 3 injections against dog bite even if it is pet and then watch the dog for 10 days and decide about rest of the 2 doses.
