Is Cyclobenzaprine The Right Medicine For Leg Cramps?

Question: My dr. prescribed cyclobenzaprine for my painful leg craps at night. What are your thoughts about this medication. It does stop leg cramps. I am 80 years young.

Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant. It decreases the muscle spasms and helps with the cramps that you are having. But since you have a low potassium levels, this can be the cause of muscle spasms.
You can also start having electrolyte rich fluids like fresh fruit juices and Garotade. It will help. Adding calcium and magnesium supplements will also help.
