Brief Answer:
FOLLICULAR MONITORING IS MOST RELIABLE FOR YOU

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
In your case ovulation seems to be erratic.
A Clearblue fertility monitor is not always the most reliable method of detecting or pinpoint ovulation.
It is best to get a follicular monitoring done to target ovulatory days.
This involves serial scanning of the ovaries to track the growth of the egg follicle.
If you are very anxious about conception, that is the best bet.
Else you can try naturally using the Clearblue monitor for a few more months.
Even with irregular ovulation, conception is possible as long as you re ovulating.
Take care.
Please feel free to discuss further.

Brief Answer:
GET HELP AFTER 2- 3 MORE CYCLES

Detailed Answer:
Generally the monitor is reliable to a great extent.
IF it shows the peak, you can assume that you ovulated, albeit erratically.
At 38, give yourself 2 - 3 more months, and then do not waste more time, since you are so desirous of having a child.
Seek assistance after December.
Prayers for you and fingers crossed.

I have used Clearblue Fertility Monitor for 4 cycles now. Cycle 1,2,3 showed Low, High and Peak fertility, the 4th cycle however has never shown Peak Fertility. I had one day of Low and then the rest are High. I am now on Day 25, still requesting sticks and still High Fertility. I am due on my period from day 27-31. Does it mean I have not ovulated? I am really worried.

Many thanks for your help

Brief Answer:
DONT TAKE THESE TESTS NEXT MONTH, GO FOR SCAN

Detailed Answer:
I think the Clearblue is just confusing you.
The results have been inconclusive and doubtful all along.
Why dont you go for follicular monitoring next month, XXXXXXX ?
It would answer your question - Do I ovulate and if so when ?
It would save you so much of anxiety and confusion.
Take care.

My doctor won't refer me and I can't afford it privately do you honestly think I do ovulate
doctor
Answered by Dr. Aarti Abraham (8 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
CANT GUESS THAT

Detailed Answer:
At 38, you never know.
Even a normal young woman sometimes has alternate anovulatory cycles.
A follicular scan is the ONLY objective and conclusive way to document ovulation.
Otherwise it is all guesswork.
Frankly, I cannot hazard a guess on such an important question, XXXXXXX

I will pay privately but I think with the monitor showing ovulation other than this month that I should trust that I am ovulating
doctor
Answered by Dr. Aarti Abraham (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
YES.

Detailed Answer:
Of course, you should hope and think the best, no need to worry.
If you can afford to have the follicular monitoring done, then nothing like it.
Take care.
