Brief Answer:
5mg is the minimal dose with no obvious documented side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I have gone through your medical query and I completely understand your concern for the medicine as well as the baby.

Cilnidipine, a novel calcium-channel blocker, is prescribed for the medical management of hypertension in adults.

5mg of Cilnidipine is the minimal prescribed dose of this drug.

No specific information about USA FDA pregnancy category. As such this is not contraindicated in pregnant or lactating mother's and also there are no obvious documented side effects in the breastfeeding babies.

As your doctor has prescribed this medicine so you can continue it safely.

I hope this information will relieve your worries. If you have any more doubts you can ask me back or else you can close the discussion and kindly rate the answer.

Kind regards
Dr. Bhanu Partap
