Brief Answer:
You have developed allergy to Bactrim DS

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Bactrim DS is an antibiotic which works in most infections including MRSA. An allergic reaction to Bactrim DS often manifests itself as itching, hives or a rash. This is because you might have an allergy to sulfa drugs which is a component of this medication.

Patients who have an allergic reaction to Bactrim DS should stop taking the medication immediately and you must report to your doctor informing them of your drug interaction. Usually the hives resolve once the patient stops taking Bactrim, though antihistamines like Benadryl can be taken for symptomatic relief. You may also apply calamine lotion over affected areas.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
