Is 7 Pound Weight Loss In 5 Weeks A Concern?
Thanks and I won't bother you more. I admire the work you do for Hospice.
Because early weight loss is accounted by fluids and that’s easier!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
Exercise and dieting cause significant drop in weight during the early days starting a weight loss plan. This is because the initial weight loss is mostly from reduced water stores and this is relatively easy and can be accomplished in a few days. After this, further weight loss comes from muscles and fats tissues which is very much difficult. What you would need is to endure or intensify activities of dieting and exercise. While this might be difficult, it is the lone sure way to attain significant weight loss that can last forever. I will encourage you to continue with exercise, intensify the training sessions as well as the dieting measures so as to be able to address your weight.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more details and clarifications if need be.
I hope I'm clear and not to specific.
So in other words, I lost 6-7 pounds and weighed 200-200.5 with no notable explanation other than a very slight diet change of little deserts or not as many. And now with no diet change and same exercise routine my weight has stayed between 200-201 for the past 10-14 days weighing in the am same time everyday.
So by staying in the same exact range of 200-201 the past ten days indicate no underling diseases particularly cancer
Certainly NOT CANCER!

Hi and thanks for the clarification.
Weight loss associated with cancer often results in a loss of about 10% from last usual weight and this happens over several months to years. A slight change in weight and its stable nature suggest that these are but normal variations expected depending on our activities and diet. I understand you greatest fear with cancers but certainly this in no way even raises the slightest thought of cancer in my mind but for the fact that you raised it. No doctor would ever think of sum as a possible explanation for a change of 7pounds in your weight. I am happy you know weight changes can suggest cancer but such weight changes are more pronounced, happen over longer periods and associated with other symptoms which support the diagnosis or raises the suspicion of a possible cancer. All these are aunt in your case.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
