Question: I have uncontrollable diarrhea of and on now every three or so weeks for five months. It lasts for 2 days. Went to hospital on two occasions the stopped it with Meds and intervenors liquid for dehydration. . They took a scan to check for various problems, turned out ok. It comes on with bloating cramps and foul belching ,then heavy diarrhea. I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis off and on for many many years, but just now with very bad pain since this episode. I do not have a unhealthy diet, or do I drink or smoke. I am.77 yrs young. And stay active but this is really interfering with quality of life. I also take many Meds for my many health issues. Last but not least I have had a heart attack 4 yrs ago due to stress related issues. I am thinking of checking with my gastrionologist. My primary does not seem to interested or does not know what to do? On the last note , I feel trying to get to the bathroom the last episode which was three weeks ago and hurt my self ,on my arms and right side ii am still hurting from that last time before this episode, by the way It was only three weeks before this time, it seems to getting more frequent. Could it be diverticulitis also.
