Brief Answer:
No need to continue testing!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these troubling thoughts that have been going through your mind concerning HIV testing. 7months is enough time for just any test to be able to detect this condition. With negative tests, there is no point in continuing testing. You may still have symptoms but let your doctors look beyond HIV. HIV is not the only cause of your symptoms. I will suggest that your doctors totally put HIV behind their backs and move forward to look for different possible causes.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

What is the official window period of HIV antibody test. And what kind of virus can mimic these symptoms. Besides mononucleosis which I also tested negative for

Brief Answer:
See below!

Detailed Answer:
These symptoms must not be necessarily caused by a virus. My advice is that you should be consulted as a patient and not as someone who may have HIV. A good history, physical exam and probably testing would be a good starting point. If every doctors stick to HIV, change the doctors and just report your symptoms to the new doctor to avoid any possible bias approaching the possible causes of your symptoms.

3months is largely sufficient for every antibody test to be valid.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.

I have swollen lymph behind ear and in neck area. Which I read can indicate HIV. I have tested negative at 4 weeks 8 weeks 10 weeks 13 weeks 17weeks and 29 weeks. And I still have these swollen lymphs stiff neck tongue lession toe fungus which all came with the flu like illness and still persist. Doctors ran blood test cbc everything good. I also had full std panel at 21 weeks all clear. All doctors seem to dismiss my symptoms because of good blood work but I suspect what I have is viral because I have been prescribed many antibiotics and none work.

Brief Answer:
This would be very unlikely to be HIV related!

Detailed Answer:
I and thanks for this follow up.

I have reviewed this additional information. Your doctors are right in saying you do not have HIV. I however disagree with them dismissing your concerns. They need to address these symptoms. Saying it is not HIV is good enough but going further to identify the cause is better. There are several possible causes to this. Infections are the most common causes. Other nodes have no identifiable cause. Also. what are the sizes of these nodes? If they are less than 1cm, then they may most likely not represent a disease condition.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.

When trying to diagnose HIV do we count from night of sexual contact or when flu like illness came. Because if I measure from night of contact its 7 month but from illness is 6 month negative. All my symptoms point to HIV I went to ent and he said nodes are small and should not be worried about. But I still have slight blurry vision, fatigue, and shortness of breath.

Brief Answer:
From the date of unprotected sex!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for following up with me.

The dates are counted from the date of unprotected sexual contact and not symptoms. Please, HIV is a laboratory diagnosis and the diagnosis cannot be made without a laboratory test confirming this. I understand your concern about exposure and possible contamination but this is simply not the case with you. You need to step back and take control of your thoughts. I am not denying that you have symptoms but do not associate them to HIV. Besides, they are slight and I will like you to obtain more information before we become even more aggressive towards this but I am 100% convinced it is not HIV.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and would be happy to address any further worries you may have.
