Question: Hi Maam,

As discussed with you earlier,I was accidently punched by my nephew who is 7 years old on my upper abdomen. But den i went for Fetal heart monitoring n stress test and everything was normal .Heart beat was 155 and contractions were 20-23.I can also feel normal movements of the baby.So as of now m not going for any ultrasound.

Few things maam

Hope it would not affect my baby later on in terms of premature delivery, god forbid still birth or any fracture-deformity in the baby.

Also hope it would not cause any problem later on to my baby.

I have a doctor's visit on 19th aug should i prepone the visit or it is fine.

There is no pain in my lower abdomen,no discharge or spotting. So can i be assured

How well is the baby protected in the womb at seventh month?

Also maam one more thing my baby's heart contractions were coming 20-23. during stress test.Is there anything to worry .is dere any problem with the baby after the blow.Has my uterus contracted? Is the baby getting proper oxygen and food.

Brief Answer:
The baby is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Since the fetal heart rate is normal it means fetus is not in any distress. There is no pain or discomfort to the baby. So no chance of any fracture or early labor or still birth. Please do not worry. Since you are not having any pain now it should not cause any problem in future.
It is alright to wait till 19th for your routine doctor's visit.
The baby is cushioned with water- liquor all around. Such small blows are not even felt by the baby. Do not worry.
The contractions at 22-23 are the uterine contractions and not heart contractions. These are normal. If the baby does not get oxygen or food then its heart beat starts decreasing. So you need not worry. Everything is normal.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Try to calm your nerves.

Detailed Answer:
The breathlessness and raised pulse is likely to be due to anxiety . Do some deep breathing exercises and Yoga to relax your mind. It will help in well being of the baby. These mild painless contractions are a normal finding.

Thanks maam for your kind reply.I feel much relieved now.I do not feel any pain in my upper or lower abdomen and have been taking ample rest lying in left lateral position.I can also feel regular baby movements .hope dats a sign that the baby is active and healthy.

Is bending or lifting heavy objects allowed in seventh month.

What are the chances of miscarriage in seventh month?

My placenta was lower earlier and now it is upper, posterior and grade 1.Hope thats a safe position.

How can a mother know that the baby is growing fine and getting proper food n oxygen? Is it only thru ultrasound?

How many more ultrasounds are left ?

Does a blow in the upper abdomen affect the baby in seventh month?

What are the layers of protection a baby has in the womb in seventh month.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
The regular and active baby movements is a sign of active and healthy baby. It is better to avoid bending and lifting heavy objects as it can cause pain in lower abdomen or back.
The chances of premature labor ( Miscarriage happens only before 20 weeks) at 7th month are less than 5% but that is predisposed if there is a persistent pain or recurrent urine infection.
Placenta in upper posterior segment with grade I maturity is safe and normal.
The proper growth of baby can be detected only by an ultrasound scan. If baby is growing properly it means the baby is getting enough food and oxygen.
Usually ultrasound is done every 4-6 weeks to monitor the growth. You may have to do two more ultrasounds till delivery. Rest depends on the complications if any.
A blow to upper abdomen does not affect the baby.
The baby has thick liquor and three membranous layer that act as a cushion.
Please try to calm down and do not ask more than four queries in one go. It becomes difficult to explain so many different things in a single go.
Regards.
