Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It sounds like this might be what we call a Bartholin's cyst. Sometimes this small gland can become inflamed and swollen and it sounds like this may be the case for you.

I would recommend that you consider some warm soaks in the bathtub for 15 to 20 minutes a couple of times per day. This might help relieve some of the swelling and inflammation. Trying to squeeze or press on the areas this might cause more of an inflammatory response.

in some cases this gland can become infected. In that case sometimes antibiotics are needed.

I suspect that with warm soaks this will gradually improve over a week or two. If the symptoms do not improve or if things get worse then I would recommend that you see your primary care doctor for a good physical examination.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
