Brief Answer:
Please, find instructions for reducing the weight below

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

If you were my patient I wouldn't prescribe you cholesterol lowering medication, unless you have any cardiovascular disease or strong family history of cardiovascular diseases.
In your case weight reduction is the best option.
You are on the right way. But you should be very patient.

For losing the weight, you should
1. Eat small portions, chew slowly and chew well before swallowing
2. Don’t eat after 7pm
3. NO FAST FOOD, NO SODA
4. Don’t drink liquids with meal; you should drink much water (without gas) between meals
5. Avoid sweets, pastries, butter, and products rich in animal fat
6. Eat much sea fish; fish oil reduces cholesterol
7. Eat products rich in fiber

8. EXERCISE - the ideal will be at least 30 minutes exercise everyday

If you follow all this instructions you will start to lose your weight gradually
