How To Increase Height?

Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: Our son just turned 13 and is 4 feet 9 inches. He only grew 1.5 inches this past year and is very upset as friends are now substantially taller. No XXXXXXX of puberty yet. Both parents are normal height. Is some type of steroid treatment an option and if so can it be prescribed by his pediatrician or does he need to see a specialist.

Brief Answer:
Further assessment by Pediatric Surgeon required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms

Some adolescent can have constitutional delay in puberty. It could be normal variation.
As he is already 13 years , with no signs of puberty, I would recommend assessment by
1. Pediatric Surgeon
2. Endocrinologist

It will require detailed physical examination and hormonal study. Would suggest you to fix up an appointment.

Take care
