Brief Answer:
Get him evaluated for rapid growth

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I can understand your concern.
I remember your query regarding the growth of baby at time of birth.
Now there is significant increase in weight and length of baby.
The average weight gain during first three month is 30 mg/kg/day.
Your baby has gained 1.1 kg in last 20 days that is more than 50 mg/kg/day.
Similarly length of baby is also increasing rapidly.
On an average weight usually gets doubled by 4-5 months of age and length increases by 30 % in first 6 months.
It can be normal variation or measurement error.
But still I would like to get him evaluated by a pediatric endocrinologist for proper assessment and also if there is a need of hormonal assay to rule out any pathology.

Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards

thank u doctor. I will really work on ur suggestion. I have the following question?
What do u mean by normal variation?
Is it possible that he is having a growth spurt and it may slow down in the coming months?

Brief Answer:
All the parameters are at the upper limit

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back

By normal variation, I mean that his growth may be more than average population in the absence of any pathology.
When we plot the growth(length, weight and head circumference) of baby on growth chart there are 5 lines. The top most line indicates 97th centile and as we gradually come down the respective lines indicate 75th,50th,25th and 3rd centile.
The growth of average XXXXXXX babies come between 25th to 75th centile. But this does not means that all the babies with values out of this centile range are abnormal.
The weight of your baby is around 97th centile while length is above the 97th centile(in measurement of length there is high chances of error).
Babies with measurement more than 97th centile should be investigated and again it is not necessary that all the babies above 97th centile are abnormal.

So I would suggest you to keep the baby in regular follow up(with growth plotting on growth chart) and get him evaluated to rule out any pathology and alleviate your anxiety.

I hope this helps.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any more query.
Regards
