Brief Answer:
AMH

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Anti mullerian hormone ( AMH ) is a unique marker which shows number of follicles in the ovary.

2) Low AMH means eggs are very less in number.

3) Please let me know your age as AMH alone cannot be a marker for ovarian reserve.

4) AMH needs to be correlated with FSH hormonal blood test and AFC ( Antral follicle count) by transvaginal ultrasound.

5) The reduced reserve is conclusive only when all these markers show there is decreased ovarian reserve . Especially AFC.

6) AMH is just a marker of ovarian reserve and no way it can be increased by diet or drugs as ovarian reserve cannot be increased since all are gifted with certain number of eggs when born.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Dr. Mahesh Koregol
