How To Determine Ovulation While On Duphaston?
Question: I am 28 years of age, have PCOD. Usually my cycles are in 35-42 days range. I am trying to concieve.
My doctor has suggested duphaston from 16-25th day of cycle and try for pregnancy between 10-20th day of cycle.
My question is since my cycle is 40 days long, my ovulation would be around 26th day. But, i would have stopped duphaston on 25th day , which in few days will trigger my periods.
How can i get pregnant if ovulation has not happened?

In my opinion you should not be taking duphaston without follicular monitoring or at least ovulation kit testing.
In PCOD patients it is very important to decide when to start Progesterone so your concern is absolutely right and this will not be a right approach so better discuss this with your gynecologist and get ovulation kits and start testing from day 12 of your periods and start duphaston 2 days after positive ovulation test and then take it for ten days.
Alternative to ovulation kit testing is to opt for follicular study which will also see the thickness of endometrium and thus supplements can be taken accordingly.

Till which day should i test using the ovulation kit??

Till test is positive

Till you get positive result which will be 2 lines and that is due to the detection of LH in the urine and ovulation occurs 12-24 hours after the surge.
Hence once there is a positive ovulation test you should have intercourse on that day and a day after to get best results.
During this period of ovulation testing have intercourse on alternate days.
