Brief Answer:
Duration - 10 days/ Side effect - loose stools

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting on health care magic.

Coming to your queries first -

1. The usual duration of treatment of throat infection with Augmentin DDS is 10 days (provided it is Streptococcal sore throat).

2. The usual side effects while using Augmentin DDS are loose stools and tummy upset. But it will amenable to treatment with probiotics if the loose stools are severe. You can consult your pediatrician regarding this if the loose motions are severe.

I have few questions for you -
1. Was any rapid streptococcal antigen test done before starting antibiotics?
2. Was any throat swab culture test done before antibiotics (Augmentin DDS)?
3. Since how long is he suffering from this throat infection?
4. How high is the fever and how many days of fever?
