How Long Does Haematoma Developed After Injury Take To Resolve?

Question: I hit my head top left of my forehead last Sunday and immediately had a goose egg. I applied ice and it brought the swelling down. Since then it was black and blue at the base of the bump which has slowly worked it's way down - now it's on my left eyelid and around the outside of my left eye. How long will I have this for? I still have a bump where the initial hit was.

Hi
As per your description, it looks like you have developed Haematoma after injury.
As the blood supply to the Face is good,healing will be faster.
It may take another 2 weeks for complete healing.
Usually, I prescribe Anti inflammatory tablet and Tablet containing Trypsin &Chymotrypsin to my patients with similar complaints.
Nothing to worry.
It will come down. Apply Cold compresses regularly.

Will the black & blue around my eye take 2 weeks to dissipate? The weird thing is that the injury was so far up and away from my eye (at my hair line above the left temple a bit to the right) and yet it moved down to the eye area.

It will take nearly 2 weeks for the colour to disappear.
The tissue beneath the skin over the face will be thin .So,any collection beneath the skin will spread to surrounding areas.
It's natural.
But, everything will disappear shortly.
