How Long Does A Sutured Cut On Calf Take To Heal?

Question: I cut my calf surfing. I had 35 stitches. The fin from my surfboard cut my calf down to the muscle. I have a few stitches in my calf muscle. I get my stitches out in two weeks. My doctor says that my internal stitches on my muscle will go away on there own.
My question is how long do you think before I can surf pain free again. Thanks

Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you may need at least six weeks away from your game. That depends on many factor like how much was the muscle cut and how near it was to tendo achilles. So if your cut was near to heal then it takes more time and if it was near to knee then it will heal faster, say in one month. It would be better that you give some time to your body so that muscle can get his full strength.
It would be better if you can provide me your report telling about site and extent of injury.It can be a ultrasound or your discharge paper. After studying that i can offer you better advise.

Here are a couple of pics. Hopefully that will help. No tendons were cut. I do have numbness around the area now. Hiping that will go away. When will i be able to get this wet? Like a shower. I did this Sat Aug 1. Tjanks

I have not received your pics. But if tendons are intact then you will recover very fast. I think you will be better then three weeks. You can not apply water till sutures are there so it will take 2 weeks from 1st of August.

Dont know why you didnt get the pics. My cut was below the knew kinda of the center of the calf. Not neat the heal .
