Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting your query,
I am pleased to be able to assist you.
Actually, the drug endocet contains two medications,
acetaminophen and oxycodone. It is more likely that you are experiencing any adverse effects it maybe due to oxycodone. Oxycodone is a narcotic agonist-analgesics of opiate receptors. It starts acting within 10-15 mins when taken orally and can consistently be delivered into the system up to 12hours but it actual duration (peak effect) lasts up to 6hours (immediate release) or less than 12 hours (controlled release). Its half-life is 2-5 hours (time of elimination from system).
Acetaminophen on the other hand has a half-life of 2-4 hours.
With combination of both drugs, you may experience side effects such as
lightheadedness, dizziness,
drowsiness or sedation, nausea/vomiting, euphoria, dysphoria,
constipation, pruritus, skin and urticarial eruptions etc.
The medication is used to control pain and it will be up to you or your physician whether you need to continue or not.
If you wish to ask any further question, please feel free to ask and I will be glad to assist.
Dr. Nsah
