How Is Mifepristone And Cytolog Used To Abort Pregnancy?
Question: hi, my wife had mifigest tabs ( 3 tablets at a time) yesterday 26th aug'14 at around 8 a.m. she was advised to have 4 cytolog tablets after 48 hrs. i.e. on 28th. 2 tablets at 8 a.m. and 2 tablets at 2p.m. but she started having heavy bleeding since 11 p.m. last night. certains lumps have also come out with bleeding. the dr. advised to have cytolog tablets today instead of scheduled tomorrow. but after having the same she is not having heavy bleeding but having acute pain with little blood discharge . Now the dr. is asking to take cytolog tablets again tomorrow and day after. pls advise.

Usually the dose of mifepristone 300microgram( day 1)
Followed by mesoprostol 200 1 tab BD for two days.( Day3)
Bleeding usually start after taking first dose of mesoprostol.
In your case bleeding( heavy) starts after taking mifepristone and then it decreases.
So your doctor advise mesoprostol for 2 days more to make the abortion complete.
Pelvic ultrasound should be done after 10 days to see whether abortion is completed or not.

Hello doctor,
I would like to rectify that after having cytolog, bleeding is little lower compare to last night what I had after taking mifigest.
There are still lumps coming out.
So when I consulted doctor she advised to continue with cytolog for another 2 days.
My question is should I really take cytolog again tomorrow?
