Posted on Tue, 21 Apr 2015
Question: I have been told I have type 2. When I noticed I was with the guy for 3 to 4 months but I thought it was an ingrow hair (that is what a doctor told me) a year later with the same guy I am now positive. When we first got together the first 3 time performing oral I got a cold sore a day later. But he is negative but not sure what type of blood test was used. Is it still possible I contract it from him?? The 2 girls before me I found out was prostitutes. I am now single and devasted I have it and been put on anti depressant I need true answers and guidance please

Brief Answer:
Kindly give more details

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have taken note of your query.

Herpes virus is acquired by close/ intimate contact with an infected sexual partner.
This intimate contact can be in the form of oral, vaginal or anal sex.

Your positive blood test could be because you have a cold sore/ herpes labialis..

You say that he is negative therefore I want to know whether have you had any other sexual partners apart from him?

Regards
