Posted on Fri, 26 Dec 2014
Question: hello... i am 25 years old, got married recently. we want to have baby after 3 years. so am taking femilon under doctor's prescription. i and my husband stay at different places for the sake of our profession so we meet only 3,4 days in a month. can i use femilon only in those days when we have intercourse instead of regularly? will it be effective if i use so? or do i have to take regularly despite our meeting? is it safe to use femilon? or suggest me if any other protective measures can be taken either by me or by my husband regarding this.

Brief Answer:
Take pill for complete course

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Oral contraceptive pills like femilon needs to be taken for complete duration mentioned in the pack starting from your cycle.

2. They will not be effective if taken only around time of intercourse.

3. If you wish contraceptive cover only around few days as you mentioned, condoms are best option.

4. Since you are planning for 3 years you can also consider intrauterine device like copper T. Long lasting and safe
