How Effective Is Cortisone Injection In Relieving Pain?

Question: I have some muscular knots that are painful that supposedly come from my neck (according to my chiropractor). I've had massages and chiropractic ultrasounds. It has been almost 2 weeks and I still have a fair amount of pain and discomfort. Would a cortisone injection help with the pain? Go to an orthopedist?

I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the cervical spine under his/her guidance to look for arthritis or other changes in your spine. Cortisone injection would be helpful if there is severe inflammation.
