How Could Low Dose Of HCG Shot Cause Increase In HCG Levels In Body?
Question: I got one weight loss shot on Tuesday (only 1/3 of the shot is hcg, it was combined with b12 and lipo). I have not had anything with hcg in it in over a year. I have taken a pregnancy test on thursday night, friday morning and this morning. I also had blood work done yesterday (it had been a full 72 hours since the shot) and my hcg level was a 8.5 (I am positive that if i am pregnant, it's only been about a week). My doctor suggested re-taking the blood test on Monday, but I was wondering if I could get any feedback on about how long such a low dose of hcg would stay in my system - and it would even be enough to make my hcg levels go from a 0 to an 8.5, even 3 days later.

I suggest to repeat blood test for hCG after 1 week from last shot date. Though, you had taken very low dose shot, it may take time up to 1 week to get back normal level or non-pregnant state (<5 mIU/ ml).
If you have missed your regular period, then it is better to undergo one Trans Vaginal Ultrasound scan to get confirmatory result about pregnancy. It is most reliable to clear confusion.
