How Can Fever In A Child Be Treated?

Question: My 11 months baby is suffering from fever since days. Temperature are going up to 103 F. when ever we gave her crocin, temperature came down to normal but again after 4 to 5 hrs it is coming. What to do, pl suggest at the earliest.

Thanks for asking on this platform

I do understand your concern. The most common of fever in this age is some viral infection. In viral infection fever remains of high grade for initial 3-4 days and then starts declining.
I would suggest you to continue crocin. It can be safely given at an interval of 6 hours. Do sponging along with. If fever recurs earlier than 6 hours she may need ibuprofen or mefenemic acid.
Please check whether the dose you are giving is correct or not?
If fever persists longer, recurs earlier than 6 hours or you find any other significant abnormality please consult your pediatrician.
