How Can A Cut On The Labia Be Treated?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Jul 2017
Question: I accidentally snipped part of my labia while trimming my pubic hair. The blood coagulated to heal it, but then it separated. Will this heal even if it has been separated? Should I put something on it to make it heal faster? XXXX

Brief Answer:
Healing by scab formation

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Healing of a cut on the labia heals on its own by scab formation. Scab is the dried blood clot.
Once the scab separates, it means that the healing has occurred.
There is no need to apply anything on the lesion.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Will it reattach even if it has come unattached if I just let it be?

Brief Answer:
Healing has occured

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
No, it will 're attach.
Once the scab falls, it will not 're attach.
I suggest you not to worry.
It has healed by now.

It never formed a scab and the skin has a black tip. Does this mean that skin is unlikable? There is no scab, just a flap of skin that keeps coming unattached due to its location. I fear that there is not enough blood flow to reattach it.

Brief Answer:
Will heal in 7-10 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have reviewed the photograph.
It shows small hematoma formation at the site of injury.
This is due to blood collection in the skin.
It will gradually resolve and the appearance will be normal within 7-10 days.
The blood flow is good, which is indicated by the hematoma formation.
