What Causes Severe Vomiting, Chest Pain And High BP In An Elderly Woman?
Question: Hi doctor,
My dad passed away 3 days back and my mom is going through severe grief and pain. Her Blood pressure is under control but sometimes due to pain BP gets higher.
she is also sugar patient.
My mom is getting continuous vomits and chest pain since 2 days, she is not able to eat much food. Doctor has given few medicines : Emigo, Pantop-D.
These medicines are just preventing vomiting but I am not sure what exactly is the cause for vomiting
Please let me know which tests to be carried to know the cause for the symptoms and a second opinion on medicines.

I believe she might be suffering from stress induced simple gastritis to gastric or duodenal ulcers.
The treatment given is right for the condition. She will get better with the same medications may be within a week or two.
I do not think there is any need for interventions. If you insist, she can get a Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy done to rule out any severe ulceration.
