Can HPV Be Contracted Through Skin Contact?

Question: Hi. Is it possible to catch HPV from masturbating with a man, who touches his penis, then your chest or inner thigh? There was no direct genital to genital contact, or mutual madturbation.

I am dr. kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.

Hiv is only transmitted by direct sexua contact with an infected sexual partner i.e either vaginal, anal or oral sex. It is not trasmitted by touching each other genitals.

Hpv transmission also not possible through simple touch

Hi.

For Hpv to enter there has to be a break in skin for the virus to innoculate into the basal layer of epidermis. Hence it is not possible to get Hpv through just simple touch. Hpv is also commonly transmitted by direct sexual contact with an infected partner.
