Question: Hello doctor,
In the month of November i had some neck pain after doing dips and neck excercise in gym session. i waited for 1 week to get it heel , but instead of heeling process pain has increased in my right hand with numbness and slowly slowly i lost my grip , i went to local physician he asked me to take muscle relief tablets and i return back again to physician and he asked me to do physiotherapy and commented as cervical radiculopathy. Pain was still there after couple of physiotherapy session then i visited one chiropractor , he took x-rays of my neck spine and it shown that between c5-c6 the space has decreased he said you need some adjustment , so i did visited his clinic i felt better as he done some adjustments like movement of neck . i went to XXXXXXX for vacation and i sh owned to ortho specialist he ask me to take MRI .and in MRI we found some disc is touching to nerve which is causing pain he asked me to carry on with tablets like GABAPIN nt AND CHYMORAL FORTE FOR 1.5 month of course he said it will take 3-4 monts but don't lift any heavy weightsn n all
now i don't have pain like what i had in november but still it's sort of some time on right hand sometime on left hand but not much i am doing physiotherapy and dr asked me to use traction kit for 10 min in home i did weight traction (ICT) in inida in physiotherapy. could you please share you are response i am still 29 of age and bit scared how it wil be ured .. and will be able to enjoy my sports life again .

Brief Answer:
cervical disc degeneration

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
cervical disc degeneration is common at early age due work related position.
If you are working on computer for long time or excessive strain on neck then this problem can arise.
you are already on heavy medicine so no need to take more medicine.
you need to focus on ergonomic correction and neck strengthening exercises.
yes intermittent traction will help.
You can take local nerve root block injection so that you can start sports early.
If no relief then endoscopic spine decompression of affected nerve root will help.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.

Thanks dr. Well I am not a professional sports person but just love to play sports so generally I would not look for injection process . Also should I carry on chiropractor visit as he ask me to visit for adjustment but since it's slip disc I am little scared . I am hoping that this is curable . Thanks
