Having Pain In Head. Feeling Nausea, Stress And Anxiety. Could It Be Migraine?

Question: I have been going through awful symptoms. It all started the beginning of august with a head "pain" on the left side of my head. More of an ache, it would only last a second or two and I would have these all throughout the day. After dealing with that for a while, some of the pains started to radiate to my eyes and ears. Then, some nausea kicked in so I went to the ER. They did a cat scan on my brain, and they did find a small calcification on the back of my brain, that I will be following up with an MRI...but they still didn't understand why I was having all these symptoms. I was sent home...and I made a doctors app. with my regular doctor within the next couple days. She said the head pain could be a migraine or a tension or cluster headache....She said they nausea could be from all the stress and anxiety? I am so confused. The nausea is not getting any better, it is now getting worse. Every morning before I even get out of bed, I feel nauseous and the second I move just a little I start to gag. I am scared...and my heart starts to race. I just want to know what this is. Everyone always seems so clueless. Hx of me. I am a 28 y/o female, have 3 kids ages 2,5, and 8. I am in medical assisting school, and work 2 days a week as a voice teacher. I was diagnosed with celiac sprue disease in 2008. I experienced very similar symptoms when I went through this back then. But, I have been eating a gluten free diet ever since I was diagnosed. I had the mirena iud inserted in march 2012. I hope you guys have something ?!?!?! I am desperate for some answers. I have another doctors appointment tomorrow.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The symptoms of headache and eye pain does raise suspicion of cluster headache. However nausea appearing so predominantly is odd for it. Also lasting for seconds is odd for it. Another possibility I would consider is SUNCT which is another type of headache.
Apart from that i would like to get EEG for you. MRI definitely is required to rule out certain things especially with a history of celiac disease.
If insertion of Mirena was immediately before this problem started then we have to consider possibility of side effect of that also.
If you have more queries, I will be happy to answer.
Good luck.
