I have been having trouble with hiccups when eating certain foods and also continuing to eat. Last night I had some discomfort below the sternum--not really chest pain--I seem to be burping more too.

Thanks for writing your query.

It will be helpful if you mention the names of the food causing you discomfort.

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having increased acidity and gas production in your stomach.

Following precautions will be helpful :-
1. Avoid spicy/oily foods.
2. Avoid gas producing foods like peas, grams, lentils, cabbage, etc.
3. Do not eat fast and do not talk while eating.
4. Avoid smoking/alcohol, if any.
5. Do not miss meal.
6. Drink lots of water daily.
7. Avoid emotional/mental stress.

You can take an antacid like Omeprazole 40 mg along with Domperidone 10 mg once a day before breakfast.

If the problem persists, get yourself examined clinically.

I hope this is helpful to you.
If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
